Wanda and I slid up to Biloxi for a couple of days last November. Problem is it's a long slide, almost 700 miles from our house. Tallahassee, Fl. is almost
the half way point so we stopped there for the night. We got into Tallahassee around 1:30 in the afternoon. After checking into our hotel we drove up to
Havana, Fl. Havana is a small village that is basically an artsy craftsy mecca. Lots of antique shops and foo foo type restaurants, its a cool little town and
was worth the effort to go see. Actually we hit it on the way home too.
We got into Biloxi around 2 o'clock the next afternoon. Found the entrance to the Beau Rivage and did the valet parking thing. Check in was a breeze and we were in our room in no time at all. The Beau's rooms are probably the best Biloxi has to offer. We hit the floor, got our players cards and introduced ourselves to the pit critters by the craps tables. We walked all around the property just to become familiar with it, found everything from the restaurants to the restrooms.
In my opinion the slots in the Beau Rivage should be against the law. We never saw anyone win anything in that place. The Hard Rock next door and the Isle of Capri down the road offered much better slot action. We did have a couple of pretty good runs on the craps tables so the slots didn't effect us but I'd have liked to see someone win something.
Wanda and I aren't kids but I have to tell you we had to be the youngest people in the Beau. I saw really old people pulling their oxygen bottles and smoking cigarettes at the same time. We all know that oxygen and flames don't mix at all. I kept waiting for the place to blow up.
Will we go back to Biloxi? probably so but I doubt we stay at the Beau. The Hard Rock was a much more lively place and seems to fit our style better than the Beau.
Check out time. The Beau is very generous with comps. They picked up all of our meals and 1 of the 2 nights we stayed there. I can't ask for much more than that, it's a shame we didn't like the place.
The best part of the trip was being on the road for 4 days. The drive up and back was the best, no rush, no hurry just enjoyed the ride and scenery.
All in all we had a great time but as always was happy to get home.
