This was a quick overnight trip to see Lord of the Dance on Saturday night.
My sister, Kathy and I left around 7am Saturday morning despite being up late for our Relay for Life event the night before. We first stopped at the Grand Biloxi. I chased the $1 Wheel of Fortune progressive too hard (jackpot is over $12M) and also played the 50c progressive Video Poker. I had no luck at all. After eating lunch at the buffet, we headed over to the Beau Rivage. I got the tickets for Lord of the Dance and hit the machines. I played dollar slots as well as video poker but couldn't hit a thing. The best I got was Aces w/kicker playing quarter DDB VP.
The show was great! I'd never seen Lord of the Dance and I enjoyed it tremendously. I wish my feet could move that fast. My mom would have loved this show. After the show, we had sandwiches at the Terrace Café. I played more VP and slots but had the same bad luck as earlier in the day.
Sunday morning, we decided to check out the Isle of Capri on our way out of Biloxi. I had not been there in over a year and had to get a new Players Club card. I liked the Isle. The entire first floor is non-smoking now. I got a mocha at Starbucks and started out playing some VP on the second floor in the main casino. The Isle had slant top triple play machines which I like to play. Then I played slant top single line games in the non-smoking area. DDB was 9/6 at the 50c and $1 level. We played a couple of hours and I did better here than I did at both the Grand and the Beau.
We got on the road and decided to stop off at the Eastern Shore shopping center on the other side of Mobile. I hadn't planned to shop, but after taking a brutal beating at the casinos, I felt better after buying new sheets and other stuff I didn't need at Bed, Bath & Beyond. We ate at Ryan's, then headed home. It wasn't bad for a quick trip. I loved the show but was unlucky at the machines. Next trip is May 15 & 16 and I hope the machines will be kinder to me.
