We live in Kitchener, the dot slightly below and to the left of the K in Kitchener, on the map.
The first day we'll head off toward, and through Toronto. Once past Toronto, we'll follow along Lake Ontario up to Belleville, where we'll spend the first two nights. To the lake side of the orange line (which is Highway 401), is Prince Edward County, a beautiful, natural area. We usually stay two nights each stop to give us a full day to explore the area.
From there, we'll go up the St. Lawrence River to the Thousand Islands area, spending two nights just past Kingston a bit, in Ganonoque.
Then it is on to Ottawa, for the next two nights. While in Ottawa, we plan to spend a few hours across the river in Quebec to see Gatineau Park.
From Ottawa, we'll head west to Orillia on Lake Simcoe, for the next couple of nights.
Then we continue west around Georgian Bay, to the Owen Sound Area. The Niagara Escarpment starts at Niagara Falls, but goes all the way up the Bruce Peninsula, which separates Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. The Escarpment creates several waterfalls near Owen Sound. We hope to explore the Bruce a little, too.
Then we travel south along Lake Huron to Goderich.
This is where things are a bit less certain. Depending how tired we are, we might just head back to Kitchener from Goderich. Or we might spend just one night in Goderich and continue on along Lake Huron through Sarnia, then along the St Clair River and Lake St. Clair and in to Chatham. Chatham is right about the "t" at the end of Detroit. It's where I grew up. There are several areas around there I like to visit.
From Chatham, we'd go on to Niagara Falls, which is just north of Buffalo, for at least one night before heading home to Kitchener.
Of course, weather could change things. We are hoping that any rain we get will be on travel days. Although we've things we wish to see along the way from place to place, they aren't as significant as the places we will be stopping in.
It's bit ambitious, but we don't get the opportunity to get away often, so we want to take advantage.
